Introduction
Wukong continues to be a popular character in nearly every MOBA to ever exist. As with most of his iterations, Wukong has his trusty staff and tricks to decimate his foes of any size. Wukong brings a lot of what you would expect from an assassin to a team. Able to take a hit with his ability to gain defensive bonuses with a skill Wukong can help peel enemies off of valued members of his team. When he isn't playing off tank for his team, Wukong has the ability to stealth his way around in fights. Allowing Wukong to catch the enemy team off guard and set up a fight for his team.

Skill Build
Monkey Business > Great Sage > Shadow Clone

Wukong releases his inner chi causing him to knock up enemies in a mid-range area of effect. Enemies caught in the area of effect are knocked up, take minor damage, and are stunned for 1 second. Wukongs ultimate isn't something I'd consider amazing as far as ultimate's go. If anything, it’s a great way to combo your attacks in the lane, or grant some bonus time to get away. I mainly use this after an engage to stack crowd control, or if an enemy has a channeled ability, I'll hold onto the ability to cancel their channel.

Great Sage causes Wukong to roll in a specified direction granting Wukong a flat amount of armor and magic defense for 3 seconds. This ability is one of the best things in Wukongs kit. Not only does it grant 100 of both forms of defense at level 1, it also grants a short dash that activates our passive. Combine this with Shadow Clone and you can hit melee enemies and use the stealth to leave the enemy no room to retaliate. This ability also dashes through the terrain. Not quite sure how that works, but it’s a game so maybe its magic.

Shadow Clone causes Wukong to temporarily go invisible and grants a 40% movement speed buff for 1 second. This is your ability for when it's time to walk away from a fight, start a fight, or fake a fight. Honestly, stealth is a great ability that is only limited by your timing and skill in its use. You can use this to trade with the enemy for free by running away, or get your ultimate more centered on the enemy team. If you are really clever, you can cast the ability at the end of your teleport. What this will do is trick the enemy into thinking you recalled back to base when you really used stealth into a nearby bush. Baiting some of the lower health enemies out into the open. After you do this a few times, the enemy might wait to push the lane when you really recall to base. Allowing you to control the lane better than you'd normally be able to.

God of War is our passive ability. Every time Wukong uses an ability his next normal attack is buffed for additional damage. Wukong's staff has a permanent 15% bonus critical chance as a bonus on his passive. This allows for some great surprise damage every once in a while early.

Recommended Talents
Flicker, Heal

Flicker - 120-second Cooldown: Teleports your hero a short distance

Flicker is always a great Talent to use. It’s a free short ranged teleport ability that can get you over terrain or towards a position you want to be in instantly. I recommend using this ability and getting good with it, regardless of the hero used, unless you are the jungler.

Heal - 120-second cooldown: You and nearby teammates instantly recover 15% HP and gain 15% movement speed for 2 seconds.

Heal is a great ability to take in duo lanes and becomes a better talent late game. Since the ability will heal the same regardless of how many teammates are around, it’s a very supportive ability. I still prefer the safety of Flicker, but if you are not a high enough level for Flicker, or are simply terrible at casting this in a direction quickly, take Heal.

Items
Claves Sancti, Sonic Boots, Crimson Banner, Slikk's Sting, The Beast, Fenrir's Tooth

Level 1 boots should be your first item.

Claves Sancti is an odd item for a rush normally. Due to the fact that we gain a small amount of critical chance from our passive this item plants us at 45% critical chance rather quickly.

Sonic Boots are simply broken as an item. 15% of normal attack reduction at all points of the game, since normal attacks are the most used attack.

Crimson Banner since we want to take more of a hit from the enemy top lane, as well as the ranged carry when we move into mid game. Since our range is short we make good use of the passive.

Slikk's Sting is more of the same critical chance abuse we built into with Claves. At this point were doing 65% critical chance with a bonus of 50% critical damage. Considering our buffed attacks, we should be doing some major damage.

We lack ranged abilities and rely on beating our enemies down with normal attacks, making The Beast and Fenrir's Tooth great last items. One will simply give us some life steal to help live a bit longer in fights, and heal up off of minions after fights. Try sneaking away when low during a fight and healing up to full to catch the enemy off guard. Fenrir's Tooth is simple an item used to help kill enemies who are low but not yet dead.

Arcana
Rampage, Tyrant, Skewer

Rampage allows us the small chance to crit with our attacks as well as do a bit more damage on those crits. Wukong is all about critical chance in this build. It also stacks extremely well with our passive.

Tyrant is a bit more crit chance and health.  Once again, we want to crit on our buffed normal attacks to really win fights before they even start.

Skewer is good early attack damage and armor pierce to allow for some great early game poke. Also, there's no critical based Arcana in the greens. So, this is our best bet

Early Game
Early game we should be harassing most of the enemy lane opponents with a quick combo of Great Sage and Shadow Clone. Feel free to get a few hits in before using your stealth to escape if you're ahead of the enemy. We want them low enough to either get a good gank or simply combo our ultimate and finish them off.

Mid Game
The middle game if we have an advantage we want to take the tower and move towards the mid lane. Roaming is your friend at this point of the game. Abuse Shadow Clone to get in range to use Monkey Business on the enemy without giving them much time to react to your gank. Take mid lane and continue to roam around, you need to keep looking for ways to get gold from the river camps or take out unsuspecting enemies.

Late Game
Hopefully, you have a good lane from all those tricky ganks you have done up until this point. Wukong starts to fall off if he's even with the enemy at this point, due to the lack of ranged abilities. Using your ability to move around quickly and gain defensive boosts you are going to want to try picking off people alone. You do great in any 1v1 skirmish, but if anyone is around to use heavy crowd control, you may end up dying without doing much.

FAQ/Tips
Use Shadow Clone at the end of the teleport animation to fake out the enemy. If they think you recalled, they may move away from their tower regardless of their low health.

Roam whenever you have your lane pushed. You have great mobility and can easily get near the enemy team without them noticing with Shadow Clone.

Use Great Sage to dodge skill shots. Worst case scenario they hit you but you have the increased defenses.

Matchups
Matchups

Taara, Easy

Taara is someone who gains more damage as she gets lower on health and grants some great ability to fight her opponents one on one. However, with Shadow Clone you can avoid taking damage from her by simply leaving after dealing a hit or two over and over till she either has to back or you can finish her off.

Grakk, Easy

Grakk relies on a slow skill shot to grab his opponent and an allied gank to kill them in the top lane. You have a few ways to dodge that grab, and if you do get grabbed you can just stealth away from him before (Abeing ganked. Just be aware that a Grakk player will always get ganks from his jungler.

Butterfly, Easy

Butterfly has low health but quick attack speed. Be aware of what her skills do and do not fight her when she has her damage reduction or attack speed buffs. Instead, go for quick bursts and fighting her without her buffs. Your crits should give you the edge needed to win this fight.

Airi, Hard

Airi has ranged crowd control on a short cooldown. This makes it easy for her to start the fight before you have a chance to use Great Sage. If an Airi is paying attention she also has more dashes than you do. Allowing her to move away during your buffs, and chase you when you want to run. She's difficult to gank and difficult to fight. Simply farm and hope she messes up enough for an allied gank to put you ahead.

Mina, Hard

Mina is the enemy of anyone who deals with melee attacks. If at any time you decide you want to attack a Mina, she has a quick button press of an ultimate to make you stay there. Combine this with her jungler waiting nearby and you can only hope that you can escape with Shadow Clone. Assuming she didn't wait for you to cast this ability to use her ultimate. If Mina waits to ult until you go invisible, you make an easy target for the enemy jungler.

Arthur, Hard

Arthur is the king of melee one on one fights. The area of effect abilities and items an Arthur builds will deal damage to you regardless of if you are visible or not. Not to mention the free armor he gains from his passive. Your best bet is to wait for a gank or simply farm and wait for team fights.
