Build and Guide TeeMee: Hybrid Tank Support With A Taste For Gold
Cheat Sheet
Skill Build
Aim to power up Pooty Poots as quickly as possible. Chain Lance is a great control move, but
strengthening Pooty Poots will lend itself to a more offensive TeeMee both in and out of larger fights.
Items
The Aegis
Hermes' Select
Asterion's Buckler
Gaia's Standard
Soaring Aura
Amulet of Longevity
Arcana
Ability Power and defensive bonuses like Armor, Max HP, and Magic Resist are key to the TeeMee
strategy. Magic Pierce and Cooldown Speed are great sub-stats. The average Arcana spread will combine
the benefits of things like Corruption, Reinforce, and Serenity for a balance between power and
survivability. Talisman, Life, and Disruption are good picks for beginners.
Introduction
Arena of Valor's first duo character isn't controlled by two players simultaneously – nor can we see that kind of gameplay
being added over time. TeeMee, the sum of two names, is a unique hybrid tank/support in the sense that stuns are their forté,
with a passive ability that makes them great to have around the team at all times.
Basically the life of the party, TeeMee can quickly close (or open) large gaps, stun enemies for a long period of time, resurrect
themselves or allies, and grant additional Gold to those within range – all while doing respectable damage in a number of ways.
Sound difficult? It really isn't.
Skills
Scavenge – A game-changing passive if we've ever seen one, Scavenge awards 25% additional gold to nearby allies whenever
Gold would be earned through minion kills. TeeMee doesn't even need to the one getting the killing blow. A great excuse to
occupy bottom lane with a friend, the effects will quickly pile up when team fights break out, helping your team push ahead or
quickly come back from a rough start.
Pooty Poots – Once tapped, TeeMee gains a noteworthy Movement Speed increase, allowing them to charge in – or away –
from battle. Over time, power is charged and eventually expelled for an AOE explosion that both stuns and inflicts Magic
Damage. This can be manually triggered for a more precise effect, but having it automatically fire once fully charged will offer
the best return.
Chain Lance – Not your traditional Tank hook, Chain Lance pulls TeeMee toward the first thing it hits – be that a hero, ally, or
friendly minion, stunning the target and dealing Magic Damage. While another great retreat tool, you'll typically use this to
grapple onto targets toward the end of a Pooty Poots charge to ensure a hit, leading to some lengthy stun times in a successful
combo.
Being a Bro – One of the coolest ultimates to come along in quite some time, TeeMee uses this to protect himself and his
allies. When activated, it creates a 3-second window where should the lowest-health ally at the time be defeated, they'll be
resurrected after a short delay, dealing AOE Magic Damage around them and returning with a maximum of 4000HP and full
Mana. Not only is this great for lengthening a team battle, but it allows for great bait n' switch tactics in the right hands.
Skill Order
TeeMee comes equipped with a bunch of cool abilities that go hand-in-hand with his chosen role, meaning there's no strict
Skill Order to follow due to his combo being relatively the same throughout a match. Even still, there is an order that helps the
team climb a little more steadily in the opening moments of a match.
Choosing to max out Pooty Poots first and foremost should typically offer up the best return when it comes to a low-risk
strategy. Being both a Support and Tank character, TeeMee is capable of holding his own, but not terribly strong when it
comes to securing skills all on his own. Because of that, the early game benefits more from strengthening his AOE capabilities
more than balancing out his ability to hold enemies still.
Slamming points into Pooty Poots won't reduce its cooldown, but it's typically available for another charge the moment the last
has resolved (if fully charged), and more easily once a cooldown item has be earned relatively early in the match. Instead, both
the base and maximum damage output increases astronomically, allowing for some decent minion clearing capabilities and,
with the added stun, a reason for enemies to steer clear while he charges. This, paired with TeeMee's passive, lends them to the
bottom lane where they can more easily feed the chosen ADC.
Talents
Though baiting enemies in while on low health just to resurrect and deal more damage with Being A Bro is tempting, TeeMee
is still designed to survive as long as possible around his team, offering bonus Gold and noticable crowd control. For that, Heal
is an essential skill to choose. Not only will it scale massively with TeeMee's growing health pool, but his tendency to be
around the team whenever possible allows for some powerful support when paired with the regenerative effects of Being A
Bro.
Sprint is typically seen as a Beginner-friendly choice, but further boosting TeeMee's Movement Speed serves many purposes.
Obviously aiding in any retreat situation, it gives them another way to rush toward large minion waves to bolster the extra Gold
effect of his passive ability, or increases the chance of closing a gap in time for Pooty Poots' maximum effect. Those with map
awareness can also rush to the aid of an ally with Pooty Poots pre-charged before activating Being A Bro to breathe new life
into a troubled ally and stunning their would-be assassin, giving enough time for a hasty retreat.
Daze is one that that won't fit many playstyles straight away, but a Talent option that should still be considered by those
looking to create the largest attack opportunity for a trustworthy team. Another AOE stun to add to their catalogue of skills,
Daze can be used pre or post Pooty Poots to keep the enemy team close enough for maximum carnage, or stunning them for an
even longer period of time. Charge Pooty Poots, rush in, Chain Lance into the fight, expel Pooty Poots for a stun, and then stun
again with Daze. That's around 3 seconds of stun time, with a movement speed decrease on top for good measure – a great time
for mages to shine.
Items
With such a varied set of perks, TeeMee can be built in any number of ways; pure tank, heavy support, aggressive DPS – you
name it! For this build, however, we're focusing on the most trustworthy TeeMee – heavy support. Still capable of grabbing a
kill if needed, this itemization method aims for maximum up-time, allowing TeeMee's group to fight with minimal threat.
The Aegis kicks TeeMee straight into the defensive route, awarding extra mana, armor, and the Cooldown Speed needed to
reliably interupt the enemy team. The unique passive helps keep enemies close enough for Pooty Poots to strike hard by
reducing the movement speed of those trigger-happy enough to fight the fleet-footed panda brothers. Hermes' Select boots
build upon this idea by greatly increasing the pair's movement speed when exiting battle – onto the next fight!
Further solidifying the wannabe knights, both Asterion's Buckler and Gaia's Standard should be picked up as quickly as
possible. Boosting their healthpool substantially, Asterion's Buckler stands out as a team choice, granting nearby allies
increased damage output and reducing the numbers coming in. Gaia's Standard, on the other hand, is a selfless effort to have
TeeMee regenerate slightly during battle. Triggering this through minion or monster hits during every 10 seconds is a great
way to stay combat ready during quieter periods.
Lastly, Soaring Aura comes along to give TeeMee some much-needed DPS output later in the game. Rarely necessery early on
thanks to Pooty Poots' high damage potential, it even offers up another boost in HP and can increase your team's outgoing
damage by reducing the Magic Defense of nearby enemies – great for a magic user that lives for the frontline, and even better
for a team with a hard-hitting mage. Amulet of Longevity isn't as strict a choice, but it does offer the greatest way for TeeMee
to remain with the team.
Arcana
If you think TeeMee's typical item choices offer little in the way of damage output, his preferred Arcana might help alleviate
some of that worry. Pooty Poots can already deal some impressive – and consisant – damage when paired with the stun of
Chain Lance, but going all-in on Ability Power arcana can often lead to a quick and easy kill early on in a match. Outside of
Reds, however, TeeMee still yearns for survivability.
Tier-1 Arcana is a simple subject – Ability Power, Max HP, and Armor is all you'll be looking at here; so Talisman, Life, and
Guard. Magic Pierce from Disruption can take the place of Guard if you're comfortable with hit n' run tactics and a well-timed
Being A Bro, but shouldn't be priority in you're new enough to be still rocking low-level Arcana.
Earning a sizeable Tier-2 Arcana, however, offers up more variety – but not much. TeeMee relies on caluclated strikes and
good timing, making things like Critical Chance and Magic Life Steal more problematic. There's a lot window of opportunity
with Being A Bro, and missing your chance thanks to a minor regen effect is a real possibiltiy. Thus, solid stats are preferred
with Ability Power, Max HP, Armor, and Cooldown Speed being the guiding light. Corruption, Reinforce, and Serenity should
cover most of the bases, with some extra Magic Pierce and HP / 5 Sec tossed in for good measure.
Then Tier-3 Arcana users can come along and demand nothing but focused stats; Ability Power, Max HP, Armor, and Magic
Defense – big numbers for tiny animals. Enlightenment, Colossus, and Mythril offer this up in spades, making Cooldown
Speed take a backseat in favor of less attacks that deal more damage.
Early Game
Looking the way they do, you'd expect TeeMee to strictly occupy the Top lane – you know... where tanks live. Arena of Valor
is, as you've likely come to realise, not your average MOBA, with roles coming and going into whichever lane they please.
TeeMee, however, falls far more in-line with the Support side of things than the Tank one early in a match, becoming a big
presence in the Bottom lane where they can gift additional Gold to the only lane typically guarenteed to have an ally occupy it
alongside another.
Early on, TeeMee's role is very simple – be there for your ally. Without a shield to speak of, TeeMee relies on stuns to either
keep enemies away from his ally, or to harass and set up coordinated strikes. Above all, though, it's about clearing minions. It's
always about clearing minions. TeeMee can help with Pooty Poots, but simply being in the vacinity increases the Gold their
ally nabs from each kill – speeding up their itemization and, in turn, increasing the chance of a snowball effect.
As TeeMee, you'll simply want to keep your enemies at bay to increase time spent farming. Pooty Poots and Chain Hook can,
when used well, stunlock a target long enough for another to deliver the decisive blow. The aim should always be to focus on
farming, but stunning the enemy team as much as possible has many knock-on effects.
Mid Game
Usually reserved for after the descruction of a tower or two, TeeMee can choose to start roaming the battlefield relatively early
on. Powerful stuns and gap-closing capabilities make medium-sized brawls almost too good to pass up.
Head up through the river to scout for any stragglers, but your goal will be to charge up Pooty Poots as you approach mid-lane,
chain hook into a battle of no more than 2 enemies, and release the gas within with stun the group for a good chunk of time,
opening a window of opportunity for nearby allies to strike back, or, if low on health, retreat to the tower. Stick around to give
the gift of Gold while pushing toward the tower. Pooty Poots can be charged through auto-attacks, so striking the tower while
exploding beside the next minion wave can elongate your team's time on the tower. Try saying that really fast.
If absolutely necessary, tower dives can be viable options with TeeMee. A low-health enemy retreating to the tower can be
shutdown with Chain Hook and a couple of auto-attacks, with Pooty Poots likely being available for a quick press thanks to its
fast cooldown. If things are looking dicey, Being A Bro can be popped to take the final hit, with the resulting ressurection
potentially dealing the final blow if a stun struck at the last possible moment. With so much in the way of survivabilty and
mobility, hitting TeeMee's skills in any order can be used to both deal damage and retreat – but not at the same time. Quick
thinking is key with these two bears, highlighting the idea of coordinated efforts.
Late Game
As things progress passed the idea of farming creep, TeeMee's passive becomes a second thought in the back of your mind.
Given how minions never really stop spawning, however, its effects will only become more apparent while your entire team
indirectly murders minions while duking it out on the same lane. Your aim at this point is similar to the rest of the match; be
there for the team to maximize incoming Gold and push ahead of the opposition.
Thankfully, that aspect of teamplay happens naturally, leaving your mind to focus on other things – like charging into battle,
stunning as many enemies as possible to grant a window of opportunity for your allies to rush in and, hopefully, clean up. Both
Pooty Poots and Chain Lance allow for calculated stuns, but it's generally best to get the most of each ability as possible. That
means fully charging Pooty Poots each time, and typically saving Chain Lance to grapple back into a group – either the enemy
or friendly group depending on the situation. You're bound to get low on health pretty frequently, making Being A Bro a great
Ultimate to have on hand for some additional AOE damage in a group situation.
Wise TeeMee players, however, need to keep an eye on the team situation. Rather than looking for an opportunity to artificially
sacrifice yourself for a surge of damage in the place of your premature burial, activiating it to coincide with your ADC being
assassinated, or a dedicated Tank running in with too little HP, can make all the difference in the team fight, giving them
another chance to fight the good fight – usually on maximum HP if they're a high-damage hero.
Thanks to having a massively buffed Ancestral Glory built into their movepool and plenty of mobility, TeeMee accidentally
excels as a Finisher. Paying close attention to the minimap can lend to plenty of situations for TeeMee to rush across the
battlefield in aid of an ally, charging Pooty Poots to the tip of power and gappling onto a target with Chain Hook in time to
deliver a big blast – either stunning the target long enough for said ally to get the kill, or granting enough time for them to get
away. Being a Bro can be used in a pinch to offer a lifeline to those about to face an untimely grave.
FAQ/Tips
Pooty Poots can be triggered early for a quick stun. This allows for some rapid retreat tactics that can quickly negate
the threat of most melee characters.
Low on health with allies closing in? Bait your enemies closer to the caverly by walking toward your team. Use
'Being A Bro' to secure your life and greatly increase the chance of the enemy losing their own through greed.
You can use Chain Lance on your own minion wave to make a quick escape, or the enemy minion wave to hasten
your walk through a lane.
Being A Bro can be used when impaired, making it easier to know when it's absolutely necessary.
Try to time Pooty Poots with an ally being resurrected with Being A Bro to stun a group of enemies within range of
the resulting AOE. Great timing should allow said ally to exact revenge, too.
Counters
With a moveset that doesn't exactly bolster their defence on top of their item choices, TeeMee certainly isn't as bulky as
dedicated Tank characters. Built to merely chip away HP and hold their targets still, falling victim to TeeMee from full HP
shouldn't be much of a concern to matter which character you happen to be playing.
But, as ever, there are some better suited to taking TeeMee down. Relying on data predictions for a timely revive, or a narrow
hitbox on Chain Lance, means characters that can burst through their HP in as few swings as possible will stand the best
chance of robbing their ability to resuccitate which, in turn, rids the threat of additional damage from the denied respawn.
TeeMee is noticably low on Magic Defense, leading a character like Mganga to stand out through his ability to deliver burst
damage with his ultimate, and make incoming damage difficult to predict thanks to his damage over time effects. Other mages
like Tulen and Natalya perform well here, too, but those who rely on stuns should note that these won't necesserily stop
TeeMee from activating their lifeline. Ranged heroes can avoid many of TeeMee's abilities, but they may struggle to break
through their defences, leaving plenty of time for TeeMee to retreat.
On the ally side, Ranged attackers and Mages are probably TeeMee's best friends. With high mobility and stuns at their side,
teammates need to be fast on their feet to make full use of these opportunities. As with most mages, Alice is a noteworthy pick
that can offer a mutual partnership with TeeMee's Pooty Poots ability, priming a group with Hissy Fit for a big explosion, or
having TeeMee pin them in place first. Not only will mages benefit from TeeMee's eventual Soaring Aura, but their usual
AOE-heavy movepool will seem even more potent with TeeMee keeping the group together.
